Hello blogging world. Long Time, No See.

Wow, where do I start? I haven't blogged in FOREVER! Well, since I last blogged I have turned 16 and got a car! I have also gotten in my first accident. Tragic :( I also started working, which is wonderful because I am making my own money! Also I am working with BigHouse this summer and I am actually liking it more than my actual job. Maybe its the people, or the purpose or the music but I just cant seem to get enough of this place. I get to spend time with my friends, work to serve the Lord and the foster children, and listen to all the good music my friends introduce me to. We have recently been working towards a winning a grant from Chase through Facebook. This being the last week we have had to buckle down and get busy asking people to vote. We started sending out messages chatting and posting on peoples walls on facebook, then we aet up a booth at Old Navy and we even started going to churches and getting youth groups to help us vote. After seeing all the work and effort put into this I can truly understand what it means to work for what we have. If you haven;t voted please do, and if you have please tell others to vote! I am done for the moment. Hopefully I wont fall out of the blogging world for to long.

Old Timers

Growing up my mom and dad always insisted that we watch movie that were termed "Classics." This genere included all the original Star War movies, (IV, V, and VI for those who dont know) black and white films like The Glen Miller Story, Gone With The Wind, Singing in the Rain,(my favorite) and almost any Audrey Hepburn movie. At the time I never really understood the "big words" or most of the plot but I recently began renting or watching these movies online and I have to say that I have great respect for all of these movies. Today, most movies are based around sex, drugs, or money and most of them have the stupidest story line or have grown into huge, meaningless Hollywood franchises.

These are the movies that my grandparents, and maybe even great granparetns grew up watching. They have great meanings and lessons behind them and are portrayed in classy and respectable ways. So, therefore, I thank both of my paretns for the wonderful lesson in culture.

Pictures

"A picture is worth a thousand words."

We all have heard this at least once in our life time, but this quote holds itself truthful. Pictures are tiny moments of time captured by a small lens at the end of the electronic box it is screwed into.

We use pictures to capture memories, to tell stories, and as beautiful works of art. In my family we are hounded with the camera from the day we are born. Parents, grandparents, god parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters all come running with a camera when you make the all star play in a baseball game, when you walk on the the stage in a beauty pagent, concert or play, and prom is the epitamy of a million pictures. They constantly snap canddids at family get togethers and holidays. Not only that but pictures are taken over and over again because someone says "I look awful" or "The lighting is bad". But how bland would our world be if we didnt ahve cameras or any pictures at all?

No one would know what you looked like when you first came out of your mom's belly. You wouldn't be able to show someone that one outfit that you wanted to wear everyday when you were 3 years old. We wouldn't have those embarassing pictures your parents took when you first learned to use the potty by yourself. We would have nothing to remember friends and family member who have passed away, or moved away. We would never have anything to correspond with our stories of the time your broke your arm falling off you bike, or the pictures of the blushing bride on her wedding day.

Pictures are something that get looked over. Imagine a world without photos....scary how somwthing so minor could make such a big difference.

Hey summer, where ya been?

I absolutely LOVE summer. I have always enjoyed this time of year. It's the time for shorts, pool trips, beach vacations, popsicles, and flip-flops. It by far defeats the freezing cold temperatures of winter, the leaves changing colors in the fall, and the flowers blooming in the spring time. School being out is a plus, but summer means more than that. Its a time to spend hours on end relaxing and not worrying. It means that you can hang out with your friends and explore the endless possibilities that come with summer. It a time when there you can explore the mystery of fun because boundries come down and freedom comes forward.

This samll window of time that the school systems allow us to get away from the stress and to enjoy somwthing should not be taken for granted. We dshould be out there doing anyhting possible because what is there to stop us?

This summer,I have decided that nothing is going to stop me from these luxareis. I am going to make the most of everything that comes my way and spend time with my friends and family as much as possible. I am going to break the rules, I am going to have a good time. Becasue that is whast summer is about!!!

Fast forward....

The 2009-2010 school has come to a close. During the last few day each of us students counted down the remaining days and exclaimed that we were so ready for the year to end. But while I was sitting at graduation last night I realized that half of my high school career is gone. Two years have quickly come and gone.

Time has flown by very fast and before we know it will be gone. I won't lie, I was celebrating the end of the year and becoming a junior, and I was excited, but I am not ready for it go by quickly. I want to drink in every moment of fun, enjoy the time spent with friends, and never regret anything.

Take time to think of what you could be missing if you just wish time away and and never take time to "smell the roses."
